Near Saint Simon Island, Georgia

Dave and I spent the night on an island inhabited by goats (we think). We saw plenty of evidence and we even heard them, but we did not see any. We were up before the sunrise this morning. A thick fog blanketed the water. It was a relief to begin paddling because we were swarmed by no-see-ums (tiny gnats) as we packed our kayaks. Dave and I enjoyed paddling in the fog. We were glad that we didn’t have any big crossing to do. We just meandered along the shore of a channel until the fog burned off. Spider webs became visible with droplets of condensation. As the sun came out, the webs glistened in the light.  After several hours of paddling, the fog disappeared and the sun came out. We quickly applied sunscreen and put on our wide-brimmed hats and sunglasses to protect ourselves from the bright sun. Today was another warm day!
