Dave and I were really excited to reach the Atlantic Ocean. Yesterday we paddled through Reversing Falls on the St. John River and out into the Bay of Fundy. Taking advantage of incredibly calm conditions, we paddled about 30 miles. Today began with fog and calm conditions. The fog burned off quickly and we spent most of the day paddling under clear skies. It has been amazing to see so much life in and around the water. Seals periodically poke their heads out of the water to watch us. Porpoises surfaced on several occasions. Of course, there are many birds and interesting things in the intertidal zone as well. The wind picked up in the afternoon and slowed our progress. As we bounced around in the waves and struggled into the wind, I took it as a good reminder that we are on the ocean after all.P8260146
