How should we thank the people that help us along the way?

Print PDF

We have been meeting lot of wonderful people as we travel. Over the last few weeks many people have helped us and we are not sure what we should to do thank them. We don’t have a lot of extra room in our kayaks to carry things to give people, but we would like to do something to show our appreciation. What should we do? Email us your suggestions!

Answer to last week’s Dave’s Dilemma

Classes had a wide range of opinions about staying in one place and resting versus pulling our kayaks on carts when the weather is bad. Some students felt that we should only use the carts to travel short distances and we should always wait out any storms that we encounter. Others wanted us to use the carts any time it is too windy to paddle. The majority of students suggested that we use the carts when the weather is bad for more than one day in a row, but that it was good for us to have a day off to rest at least once each week. Based on your feedback we have decided to use the carts if we are behind schedule or if a storm lasts for more than one day. In fact, it looks like there is going to be a storm this week and we may end up resting for a day or two and pulling our kayaks on carts for a day or two.
