We got an early start to another beautiful day on the river. The sun was shining, and the wind was blowing. With the aid of the wind and the current, we covered 25 miles before lunch! After lunch, we paddled through Lake St. Pierre, which was beautiful. We haven't seen an expanse of water that big in a while now. The fish were jumping all around us and there was waterfowl everywhere. We stopped for the night at a private campground where we met Jean Leblanc and Henriette Lupien. They very graciously let us camp in their yard and gave us some shrimp for an appetizer as well as some Swiss Chard and a Yellow Squash from their garden, which were both a delicious addition to our dinner. Then they gave us ice cream afterwards! What a treat! We saw a lot of wildlife today, there were huge carp jumping out of the water, Blue Herons fishing in the weeds, and ducks, geese, gulls and terns were everywhere. We paddled about 40 miles today in eight hours.
