Gear Review: North Water PaddleBritches

Print PDF

I have to admit that when I pulled the Northwater PaddleBritches out of the box, I thought they looked a little bit goofy. After stringing them onto my stern deck line, I learned to appreciate them. They have served as a handy way to store my spare paddle.

The PaddleBritches are made out of Cordura and the two openings for your paddle shaft are designed to remain open. This means I can easily stow my paddle within reach. They have lasted for a long time, only fading slightly in the sun, but not showing any signs of wear.

The act of shoving a spare paddle under a bungee cord can cause lots of scratches on your deck. By sliding my spare paddle into the Cordura sleeves of the PaddleBritches, my deck remains scratch free.
