We finished hiking along the canal this morning. Many people stopped to talk to us, making sure that we weren’t going to launch our kayaks in the canal. We launched into Buzzards Bay at the marina near the Maritime Academy. The weather was gorgeous. Last night had been cool, but the sun warmed things up quickly. As we paddled near a long, rocky point I noticed several turkey vultures on shore. They were eating a seal carcass. The wind picked up as we paddled. It was a headwind. We made our way from point to point, working our way southwest. We got off the water shortly after sunset. Dave and I enjoyed the last hour of paddling since the wind died down and the sunset was beautiful.P9240508
