In a few days we are going to take a break from paddling. We are going to spend about 10 days visiting schools in the New York City area to share our story. We have been paddling, camping, portaging, and walking almost every day since we paddled away from Grand Portage, Minnesota on May 9th. We are looking forward to a break, but we are worried that we will get out of shape during our break and paddling will be harder for us when we start traveling again. We will be busy working with schools almost every day and will not have time to paddle our kayaks. What should we do to stay in shape? Do you have ideas for exercises we should do? Are there certain things that we should, or should not eat?
