We woke up to another beautiful morning on the Ottawa river. For breakfast, we cooked up the eggs we bought at the Farmers market, and they were delicious! We paddled about four hours before stopping for lunch, which paled in comparison to the last two days' lunches. After lunch, we started feeling like were were getting further away from the city. There are still tons of motorboats, but the land on both sides of the river is much less developed. Jay Morison connected us with paddler Sonja Hirsig who has some property along the river. She very graciously let us camp here. Thankfully the sun was behind clouds intermittently today, so it wasn't as hot as it could have been, but it was still about 95 degrees. We saw two Blue Herons today and two terns, a few cormorants, quite a few gulls, a Bald Eagle, a kingfisher, a loon, and a large fish of some sort that jumped completely out of the water just in front of us. We paddled about 31 miles today in eight and a half hours.
